In less than two weeks, the 17th Mediterranean Film Festival Split begins, bringing us record 107 films from 41 countries through six different programmes, which will be shown in four locations. In the Mediterranean feature-length program showing solely Croatian premieres in competition, directors Omar Hilal (Egypt), Miguel Faus (Spain), Enrico Maria Artale (Italy) and Ardit Sadika (Albania) will personally present their films to the audience.

"The Silent Maid", a dynamic and refreshing satirical drama by director Miguel Faus, was chosen for the opening film of this year's FMFS. The director will personally recall for the Split audience at the Bačvice Open-air Cinema about how his project came to be recognized and financially supported by the great Steven Soderbergh.

The park in front of FESB (The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture) is going to become an open-air cinema on the Campus for an evening, screening "The Heist of the Century". This Argentinian blockbuster, an action comedy based on a true event that also inspired the authors of the Netflix series "Money Heist'', is one of the most watched films in the history of the Mediterranean Film Festival Split.

In its 17th year, the Mediterranean Film Festival Split is moving the free cinema to the vicinity of the Gregory of Nin’s statue, in addition to the already well-known locations of Bačvice Open-air Cinema, Gripe Fortress and Zlatna vrata Cinemateque.
