In recent years, the Mediterranean Film Festival Split has become an increasingly well-known meeting place for film professionals, but also more and more the key place in the education and upbringing of new audiences through numerous lectures, masterclasses and workshops held during the 10 days of FMFS.
This year's Industry programme opens on Friday, 14 June 2024 at 1 p.m. with the “Intimacy Coordination Training” workshop – intimacy and boundary training on film sets, but also in all other sectors and work environments within the industry. The workshop will be guided by American coordinator Amanda Blumenthal, who, among other things, worked on the series "White Lotus" and "Euphoria". Over the course of four hours, this leading on-set intimacy coordinator will provide insight into this relatively new position within the industry and demystify their work process. This is the first Intimacy Coordination Training in Croatia, and FMFS organizes it in partnership with the Croatian Audiovisual Center.
A lecture on making a movie poster is presented by FMFS in cooperation with Nomad Art Gallery, and is given by Goran Turković from the famous "Šesnić & Turković" studio. Those interested will be introduced to the process of cooperation between graphic designers and producers, directors, distributors and sales agents, and will explain why the rules of marketing do not apply to film promotion.
In cooperation with Fotoklub Split and Karlo Kazinoti, an exhibition of photos from the shooting of recognizable FMFS posters will be shown during the festival. In addition to the photos that were finally selected, visitors will have the opportunity to view those that were not, as well as a series of photos that show the process of creating the poster. The exhibition will be set up in the gallery of Fotoklub Split in Marmontova street.
The extremely successful dubbing workshop of short animated film for drama students as well as professional actors, led by Luka Rukavina, who has dubbed over thirty works from major film studios, and in collaboration with Vojan Koceić, audio and video engineer, continues this year as well.
-We are very pleased that this year we are putting an exceptional emphasis on children and young people, and additionally on the importance of their education, but also early involvement in the creation of works – from stories, films, posters, to video games. Through our industry programme, we strive to explore modern tools as a way of communication, something our children are also familiar with, but also of getting closer to film art and its understanding. And all this, along with old and new workshops and coverage of key topics from the world of the film industry for students and film professionals – said Ena Rahelić, head of the FMFS Industry programme.
